ROYAL - DeSales had numerous standouts here Saturday during the fifth annual Ron Vanderholm Invitational track and field meet.
The event featured 26 teams ranging from Classes 1B to 4A.
Brigit Lyons recorded personal best times in both the 100 hurdles (19.72) and 300 hurdles (56.85). She placed third in both events.
Jessica Arnzen was fourth in the 400 (67.23) and Dani Hall finished eighth in the javelin (83 feet, eight inches).
Lyons and Arnzen teamed up with Cheyenne Schoen and Amanda Arceo to finish sixth in the 4x200 relay (2:05.7). Lyons, Arnzen, Arceo and Chloe Betts were seventh in the 4x100 relay (58.61).
On the boys side, Pat Sharkey was fourth in the 400 (54.57), Joe Zimmerman and Joab Neri were fifth and eighth, respectively, in the 3200 (11:31 and 12:21), Nick Wales came in sixth in the 300 hurdles (45.76), and Jacob Heikkenen narrowly missed the top eight in the shot put (39-2).
Wind gusts during the day reached the 25-to-30 mile-per-hour range, according to DeSales coach Mike Michels.
"Getting good times and good PRs was quite an accomplishment," added DeSales assistant coach Michael Scheel.
The Irish host a District 9 meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
