Copies of a Sherman Alexie's book, "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" will be given free to teenagers at all Walla Walla County Rural Library District branch libraries Tuesday.
Alexie, a Northwest poet and prize-winning novelist, will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday at Whitman College's Cordiner Hall.
Punkey Adams, rural library district executive director, said 200 copies were made available through the district's partnership with First Book National Book Bank in Washington, D.C. Rural Library District libraries are located in Burbank, Prescott, Touchet and Vista Hermosa.
The giveaway will continue until all copies are done, Adams said.
Information is available from any of the libraries or at 527-3284.
