YAKIMA -- Caitlin Holland, one of three first-year golfers playing for Whitman College, shot 93 to give the Missionaries their best Sunday score as the Northwest Conference Women's Spring Golf Classic concluded at the Apple Tree Golf Course.
Slicing one stroke off her Saturday score, Holland finished with a 36-hole total of 187. Senior Kelsi Evans finished at 189 after carding a 95 in the closing round.
Junior Sydney Saito and first-year teammate Tate Head shot 99 and 101, respectively, to complete Whitman's Sunday team score. Saito's tournament score was 192, eight shots in front off Head.
Sophomore Allison Lodine also played for Whitman, shooting 104 to finish at 203 for the tournament.
In the team scoring, Whitman finished sixth in the nine-school field with a 36-hole total of 768.
George Fox was first in the team scoring with a 665, beating Whitworth by seven strokes and third-place Linfield by 23 shots.
Brianna Nap, playing for George Fox, won medalist honors with a 161. Whitworth's Emily Travis was one stroke back in second place.
The Whitman women are slated to play next Saturday in a three-way match against Pacific and Whitworth. That match is set for Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick.
