New season for farmers market set to begin May 1

Walla Walla Valley Farmers Market will begin the 2010 season May 1.

The annual Market Clean-Up will start at 9 a.m. Tuesday, at the corner of Fourth and Main streets, directly behind City Hall. Volunteers are encouraged to join in to clean the area and get ready for opening day.

Vendors participating in this year's Walla Walla Valley Farmers Market must submit a copy of their liability insurance with the Walla Walla Valley Farmers Market listed as an "additionally" insured. This requirement is in the market rules, but it has not been enforced in the past. Vendors must turn in copies to the WWVFMA with their applications before market participation will be allowed. Vendors must also have all Walla Walla County Health, nursery and any other permits, as required by law.
