Pomeroy's boys win golf tournament in Clarkston


CLARKSTON - Pomeroy's boys golfers won with an overall score of 163 on nine holes at Quail Ridge Golf Course, and had the medalist with Trevor Koberstein's 38 on the par-36 round.

Dayton's boys played, but scoring was incomplete. Dayton's girls beat Orofino, while St. John-Endicott was incomplete.

"It was a good day," said Pomeroy head coach Jim Greene. "The weather was gorgeous, so we couldn't complain about that."

Asotin placed second with 180. Orofino shot 189 and St. John-Endicott had 209.

Pomeroy's individual scores were Austin Starin, shooting 41, Joel Meyers with 42 and Ryan Koberstein with 42.

Not counting for the Pirates were Tanner Feider with 49 and Anthony DellaMaggiora at 54.

"The greens had just been punched a couple of days ago, so I was really surprised the scores were as good as they were for everyone," Greene said.

Dayton's boys' scores were Dain Henderson at 44, Garett Turner 52, and Andrew Groom, 63.

Dayton's girls' shot a combined 223. Orofino had 236.

Dayton's girls' scores were Kalee Lytle at 49, Molly Payne with 56, Caylyn Tate with 58, Cheyenne Bell with 60. Kyle Ihle shot 64 and Carly Grimshaw shot 66 for non-counting scores.

The Pirates host Dayton and St. John-Endicott Saturday.
