Benefit brunch set for Saturday for injured Mac-Hi student

A benefit brunch is on the table for McLoughlin High School student Taylor Hodgen, who was injured by a baseball last month.

Hodgen, 16, suffered brain injury when he was hit in the temple by a line drive during batting practice at the school. The honor roll student has been sidelined from school, sports, driving and work.

The Hodgens have some health insurance, but costs for Taylor are expected to rocket past what the family can afford in deductibles and copays.

The brunch is scheduled for Saturday, 1-5 p.m., at the Milton-Freewater Elks Lodge, 611 N. Main St. Tickets are $7 per person, available at the door or by calling 541-938-5591, Ext. 7222.
