Pirates Koberstein, Meyers medal as Pomeroy wins golf match at Columbia Point

RICHLAND - Two Pomeroy golfers hit 79 in a three-way tie for medalist, and Pomeroy won overall at Columbia Point in a golf match here Tuesday.

Trevor Koberstein and Joel Meyers both scored 79, along with Asotin's Drew Heitstuman, in the three-way medalist tie. Pomeroy's overall score of 444 beat Asotin by eight points.

"I thought the pin placements today were extremely difficult," said Pomeroy coach Jim Green. "I was extremely pleased with the kids that shot lower scores than expected, but team-wise I thought we were probably 15 or 20 strokes higher than we should've ben. So we need to pull all five kids tighter together."

Pomeroy's scores were Koberstein's and Meyer's 79 each, Austin Starin with 90, Tanner Feider, 9, and Ryan Koberstein, with 100.

Pomeroy's team led with 444. Asotin had 452, Tri-Cities Prep 467 and Liberty-Christian 541.

The boys tee up again April 27 at Veteran's Memorial in Walla Walla.
