Inland Northwest Musicians present benefit concert


MILTON-FREEWATER -- An ensemble from the Inland Northwest Musicians will present "Pizzicato Popcorn to Pachelbel," drawing on music from the Celtic tradition to Bach, including "Lord of the Dance" and a "Music Box Gavotte," 7:30 p.m. April 30 at St. James' Episcopal Church, 719 Pierce St.

This concert is a fundraiser for Helping Hands food bank in Pendleton and is part of a St. James' public concert series to raise money to help eradicate hunger. Free-will donations will be accepted at the door.

The ensemble, under the direction of R. Lee Friese, music director and conductor of the Inland Northwest Musicians, features violins, violas, a double bass and a bassoon. The musicians include Sue and R. Lee Friese of Athena; Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah Olsen and Scot Swenson of Pendleton; Cassie Burnett of Richland; and Jill Jesperson of Hermiston.
