PRESCOTT _ Voters in the Prescott Joint Park and Recreation District have until Tuesday to mail ballots on whether the pool will be open this summer.

District board of directors decided to again seek a levy after the measure failed by just a few votes in the November 2009 election.

The amount on the current ballot is $220,000. If the levy passes, the money will be collected in 2011. To operate the pool this summer, a tax anticipation note will be used until taxes are collected.

Estimated cost per $1,000 valuation is 99 cents, meaning the owner of a home valued at $100,000 would pay $9.99 for the levy.

A 60 percent super majority is required for passage.

The district maintains and operates the pool and adjacent Field View Park.
