LA CROSSE - Megan Reed and Nicole Brown pitched back-to-back no-hitters for Touchet on the way to blanking LaCrosse-Washtucna twice, 10-0 and 15-0, here Saturday.
"It was pretty special to have back-to-back no hitters," Touchet coach Gary Dorman said. "We've had good pitching, but not matching the two outstanding performances today by Megan and Nicole."
Each Indian pitcher allowed just one walk in the game.
Touchet made three errors in the two games.
Megan Reed led the Touchet offense onslaught, nailing four hits in the doubleheader.
Key offensive hits were aplenty for Touchet in both games.
Centerfielder Zoe Weaver had a two-out, bases-loaded double that scored two in the second inning of game one to get the Indians going.
Catcher Cheyenne Kessler added a two-RBI single in the fifth of game one.
In game two, Jamie Jaspersen had a bases-loaded, two-out RBI in the fourth.
"After Jaspersen's hit, we got everything rolling and we were able to break it open," Dorman said.
The offense and defense combination worked for the Indians.
Touchet combined to score 25 runs in the two games and play good defense behind their pitchers.
"The girls are playing really solid defense," Dorman said. "The bats are coming around a little bit. We're playing harder overall and at a higher level."
