WALLA WALLA - Whitman College senior Matt Solomon has been named Northwest Conference Player of the Year for men's tennis for the second time in three seasons.

Voting prior to last weekend's annual postseason tournament, NWC coaches made Solomon the leading vote-getter in the all-conference balloting.

Jeffrey Tolman, a Whitman freshman, also earned a spot alongside Solomon as coaches filled out the eight-man All-NWC first team.

Whitman juniors Etienne Moshevich and Chris Bailey were voted to the All-NWC second team.

Playing this spring at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, Solomon led Whitman to its fourth consecutive 16-0 conference regular season and to its third straight NWC title.
