Rain washes out most of Tuesday's prep sports schedule

Wa-Hi's home baseball twin bill against Eisenhower is among the local events rained out.

WALLA WALLA - Rain washed out most of Tuesday's prep sports schedule, including Wa-Hi's home baseball doubleheader against Eisenhower.

Weather permitting, the Blue Devils and the Cadets were scheduled to make up the twin bill this afternoon at Murr Field, with the first game scheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch.

Other baseball and softball action scrubbed on Tuesday included Tri-Cities Prep at DeSales, Touchet at Waitsburg-Prescott, Dayton at St. John-Endicott, Pomeroy at Garfield-Palouse and Irrigon at Weston-McEwen.

DeSales was scheduled to make up its softball games against the Jaguars Thursday at 4 p.m. The baseball games, however, will not be rescheduled.

Touchet's baseball and softball single games at Waitsburg-Prescott have been rescheduled for Tuesday and will be played as doubleheaders on the Touchet fields. Play commences at 3:30 p.m.

Dayton's softball doubleheader at St. John-Endicott will be rescheduled at a yet-to-be-determined later date and the baseball twin bill will not be rescheduled.

Pomeroy planned to make the trip to Garfield-Palouse today, but rain continued to fall in Whitman County forcing a second postponement. School officials will attempt to reschedule the softball games, but the baseball twin bill has been canceled.

And Weston-McEwen will attempt to play its softball and baseball games against Irrigon this afternoon, with action scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Wa-Hi also lost its tennis match at Southridge to the rain on Tuesday. No reschedule date has been set.

And Mac-Hi's tennis match at Umatilla was washed out and has been rescheduled for Tuesday. No starting time has been set.
