ATHENA - Weston-McEwen dropped a single baseball game to Irrigon here Wednesday.
The TigerScots lost, 11-5.
"Defensively, we had a breakdown again," said Weston-McEwen coach T.J. Haguewood. "We had too many errors, and we're not a good enough team offensively to let the other team have so many unearned runs."
Irrigon had three runs on errors and five unearned runs overall, Haguewood said.
"Later in the game, we played better, and overall the boys again worked hard at improving," he said. "We still have a shot at making the playoffs if we take care of business, but we've got to make the plays."
Catcher and leadoff hitter Elliot Salter lead the team at 2-for-3 with one RBI in batting, and Aaron Speed was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
The TigerScots moved to 3-11 overall and 2-6 in league play.
They travel to Pilot Rock for a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Saturday.
