WALLA WALLA -- Edison Elementary will hold its second Big Truck Rally and Carnival Saturday to raise money for its PTA.
The event runs 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the school, 1315 E. Alder St. The event is free to attend, with a suggested donation of $2 at the door.
Children and families are invited to take in a variety of big trucks and vehicles used in construction, law enforcement and agriculture.
Attendees can get to see and climb aboard a fire truck, ambulance, cement mixer, tank, crane and more. Valley Transit is providing a trolley bus that will be the site of stories being read every half-hour. Attendees are also free to grab a book and sit and read at their leisure.
To complement the exhibit, organizers will also have food and games on hand. A dunk tank will feature incoming Edison Principal Josh Wolcott, as well as teachers and parents throughout the day.
Food offerings will include beef and vegetarian hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, fruit, soda, juice, water and cotton candy. Among the carnival games and activities will be a fishing pond with prizes, an iSpy game, face painting, temporary tattoos, custom engraved dog tags, colored hair spray and a raffle.
The food and most games will require tickets, which will be sold at the rally for $1 each.
