Eleven-year-old Cameron Matthew Hartwell of Pasco passed away from drowning on July 28, 2010, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Barbara Hartwell of Walla Walla; and his great grandfather, John Dinwiddie of Walla Walla.
He is survived by his father, Robert Hartwell Jr. of Prescott; his mother, Sherry Hartwell of Pasco; grandmother, Donna Foster of Florida; grandfather, Charles Dinwiddie of Oak Harbor; brother, Christopher Hartwell of Pasco; half brothers, Robert Hartwell III of Spokane and Bradon Latendresse of Pasco; half sisters, Veronica Hartwell of Walla Walla, Samantha Young of Mount Vernon and Felicia Latendresse of Pasco.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1998, in Walla Walla. He was a fourth-grader at Mark Twain Elementary School in Pasco. He loved his sports like golfing with his brother, Christopher, and father, Robert, when they were together. He played soccer and loved WWE Wrestling. He collected the cards and action figures. Cameron was a shy child, but had opened up with his family and classmates over the years. He had a girlfriend named Gabby. He loved his family and friends and was a very loving, caring child. He was very special to everyone he met and will always be remembered as that very special loving boy.
Viewing & visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, from 1 p.m. until 8p.m. and on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. There will be a Graveside Funeral Service on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cameron Hartwell Foundation at Baker Boyer Bank in Walla Walla and Kennewick or directly to the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
