Thomas James Price, formerly of Dixie, passed away June 3, 2010, at Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Seattle. He was laid to rest June 14, 2010, at Riverstone Crest Cemetery in Tukwila, Wash.
Thomas was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Walla Walla to Clarence and Vera Harter. Price lived in Touchet until 1949 when the family moved to the farm on Lewis Peak near Dixie. He attended grade school in Touchet and Dixie and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1955. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy. While stationed in New Jersey, Thomas met Dorothy Berrell and was married. Thomas was honorably discharged in October 1958. After the Navy he returned to Dixie and worked on Sherwin Farms for years and then Thomas and Dorothy moved to Seattle, where he worked for Sea Board Lumber Co. until he retired due to disability. Thomas was active in White Center Eagles.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dorothy. He is survived by three brothers, Larry (Pat) of Dixie, Dale (Barbara) of Walla Walla, and David (Phyllis) Abilene, Texas; two nieces, Kathy (Dean) Gerling of Walla Walla, and Emma (Jeff) Minson of Baytown, Texas; one uncle, Standy Harter of Seattle; and one nephew, Richard Price of Red Bluff, Calif.
A memorial was held for Thomas on July 17, 2010, at White Center Eagles with Pastor Steven Kappel Mann officiating and rejoicing that Thomas is with his Lord and Savior.
