Lifetime resident of Walla Walla, Les Parsons passed away Aug. 9, 2010, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Walla Walla.

Les was born May 30, 1919, in Walla Walla to Archie Lester and Gertrude Spencer Parsons Sr. He attended local schools.

Les served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and after his discharge he returned home. He married Jennie Mae Matilla on June 14, 1947, and they have made their home here since that time.

Les has been a mechanic in the Walla Walla Valley all his life. Starting with Locati Motors on South 9th Avenue, and later his career evolved into Charlo Parsons Automotive until his retirement.

Lee is survived by his wife, Mae Parsons of 63 years at the home; one sister, Geanice Meiners; one brother, Don Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and onesister.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church through the Herring Funeral Home. A private family interment will be held at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Myra Road.
