Nancy Ann Adams, a resident of Walla Walla for more than 25 years died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at the age of 67, in her home with friends and family. Nancy was born in Wallace, Idaho, to Andy and Velva Artilia McCorkle. She was the youngest of five children.
Nancy attended school in Burk, Idaho. She married and had five kids in Idaho. She later divorced and married Billy Adams.
Nancy had two more daughters, Kathy McCorkle and Lovonia Adams. She worked most of her life caring for other people as a CNA in numerous nursing homes and hospitals. Nancy lived in many states and cities around the United States throughout her life. She was a friend to many. She loved to babysit kids and they loved her too.
She was very fond of crocheting. She made doilies and blankets. In 1985, she moved back to Walla Walla with her husband, Billy, and her youngest two daughters, Kathy and Lovonia. They decided to stay in Walla Walla.
Later in life, Nancy took on the task of raising six of her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Nancy lived for her grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren. Nancy was a caring and loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren. She was a simple but proud woman. She loved animals, her show, The Young and The Restless; and spending time with family. Her family members are grateful for the time they had with her.She will be greatly missed.
She was survived by her ex-husband, Billy Adams of Walla Walla; her two youngest daughters, Kathy Armenta and Lovonia Adams, both of Walla Walla; her three other daughters and son from her previous marriage; her grandsons, Antonio Contreras, Claudio Lara Jr., Eric Adams, Emilio Adams, Jovani Armenta and Kayden Adams; her granddaughters, Connie Contreras, Anna Wade, Esmeralda Saldana, Jenny Contreras, Talia Armenta and Tatiana Armenta; many other grandchildren not mentioned, great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Alekzander, Adrian, Kiana, and Addiso; and numerous other great-grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, father, daughter, grandson and granddaughter.
The viewing will be Tuesday Aug. 17, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and services will be held Wednesday Aug. 18, 2010, at 1 p.m. Both will be at Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Society or charity of choice through the funeral home.
