Friends of the Milton-Freewater Public Library sell bookmarks to raise funds

MILTON-FREEWATER -- The Friends of the Milton-Freewater Public Library have produced a frog-themed embroidered bookmark to take the place of the frog pins the group has sold for the past 16 years as a fundraiser.

Designed by local artist Jane Jones, the limited edition of 100 bookmarks is now available at the library, located at 8 S.W. Eighth Ave. The bookmarks are $5 each.

Jones previously designed most of the frog pins and two frog-themed T-shirts. Remaining quantities of pins and shirts from past years are also available at the library.

Since its inception the group has funded a variety of furniture, equipment and materials for the library and sponsors an annual scholarship for a graduating senior at McLoughlin High School. The group has raised more than $50,000 since 1992 to assist library programs and services. For more information, call 541-938-8246.
