Turkey Bingo to get Waitsburg's Hometown Christmas off and running

Crafts, live music and a visit from Santa are also on the agenda.


WAITSBURG -- Hometown Christmas will begin Saturday with Turkey Bingo at 4 p.m. in Ye Towne Hall. Bingo continues until all the turkeys and prizes are gone. American Legion Auxiliary sponsors the bingo.

Sunday, craft vendors will be at Ye Towne Hall noon until about 3 p.m. Live Christmas music by the Waitsburg School music department will fill the air during the afternoon. Rainbow Girls will serving cookies and coffee during this time.

Among dignitaries expected is Santa, who will be at the school at 1:30 p.m. Santa will have bags of treats prepared by members of the local grange to give away. Santa will pose for photos for those with their own cameras.

Drawings for gifts and prizes donated by local area businesses begin at 3:30 p.m. Among the prizes are gift certificates worth $75, $50 and $25 good for purchases at any Waitsburg merchant. The certifications were donated by the Commercial Club. You must be present to win.

Tickets for the drawing can be obtained by shopping at Waitsburg merchants. One ticket is given for each $5 spent.

The lighted parade begins at the north end of Main Street at 5 p.m. Anyone interested in being in the parade should call Ruth Peterson, 337-8849.

A chili feed sponsored by the Commercial Club will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Ye Towne Hall. Cost is $2.
