WALLA WALLA -- Two living units at Washington State Penitentiary that had been on lockdown have been returned to normal status. Two others remained on restricted movement status today.
The four units in the prison's West Complex were locked down late last month after two separate fights involving groups of inmates.
Echo and Fox units were returned to normal status Thursday, according to information posted on the prison's Web site. Delta and Golf units are scheduled to remain on restricted movement status until Monday.
Fox and Golf units were locked down on Nov. 14 after a fight involving more than 50 prisoners in Golf unit. Delta and Echo units were locked down after Nov. 22 after a fight broke out between more than 20 inmates in Delta unit.
Each unit holds 187 inmates, according to prison officials.
