It is with great sorrow that the family of Isabel Watts reports her passing. She was preceded by her husband, Bert Watts.
Isabel was born Oct. 15, 1918 in Waitsburg. She was the youngest of five siblings, who have preceded her in passing.
Her mother was Anna Lee of a pioneer family, also born in Waitsburg, whose family had immigrated to the Walla Walla area in 1859 from Ohio. Her father was Guy Henry Thomas. She attended school at Green Park, Sharpstein and then Walla Walla High School.
Her earliest job was at AM Jensens, which is now the location of Macy's in downtown Walla Walla. After raising her family, she went back to work as a secretary in the administration office at the Walla Walla School District.
She was active in the Walla Walla Daughters of the Pioneers and the Walla Walla Garden Club. She was also a member of the Walla Walla Country Club, a golfer and active with several bridge groups.
She is survived by her son, Tye Watts and his wife, Tish; and her younger son, Del Watts, all of Walla Walla; granddaughters, Tracy Watts, Tera Davis; and a grandson, Travis Watts; great-grandchildren, Kendal Davis, Carter Davis, Samantha Sprys and Breanna Sweeney; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla. The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Robin Peterson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice, Blue Mountain Humane Society or charity of choice through the funeral home.
