Ryan Walt Donohue was much loved for his big heart and generous spirit. He died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 7, 2010, at the General Hospital in Dayton. He was 58.
Ryan was born March 12, 1952, to parents Hubert and Evelyn Barclay Donohue of Dayton. He grew up on the family's Whetstone Farm six miles northeast of town. He graduated from Dayton High School with
the class of 1970.
Cindy Lemery Wheatley and Ryan were married on May 25, 1980, in a joyful ceremony held at the First Congregational Church in Dayton. They raised four wonderful children together. Over the years more
than anything Ryan loved being with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, golfing and fishing. He and Cindy enjoyed several boating and fishing holidays in Canada and the western U.S.
Community involvements for Ryan included five years of service on the Dayton School Board. He was also a member of the Elks Club and the Eagles Club.
Ryan is survived by his wife; three sons; one daughter; two daughters-in-law; and a son-in-law. The sons are Jeremy Wheatley of Cashmere, Joshua Wheatley of Pasco and Rory Donohue of Dayton. The daughter, Kresta Byington, lives in South Bend. Ryan and Cindy have nine wonderful grandchildren.
Ryan will be deeply missed by his brothers, Timothy Donohue and Kelly Donohue, both of Dayton, and Randall Donohue of Eugene.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Harvest Christian Center in Dayton with Father Ernie Campbell officiating. A luncheon reception will follow.
