PREP BASKETBALL - Helix girls struggle without Hack

UMATILLA - Helix had to play without Chyanne Hack and the Grizzlies struggled here Friday night in non-conference girls basketball action at the Columbia River Clash tournament.

With Hack sidelined with a knee injury, Riverside, behind a 17-0 third quarter burst, posted a 47-11 win over the Grizzlies. Helix was forced to fire away from 3-point distance and made just 2-of-21 attempts.

"We took a lot of shots, but we just couldn't make anything tonight," Helix coach Dean Fouquette said. "Riverside played excellent defense and took us out of our offensive rhythm."

Claire Ely drained two treys and led the Grizzlies with six points.
