Billie "Jeanne" Jean Fox, 67, of 1565 Olive St. died Nov. 25, 2010, at home. A celebration of her life will be held Dec. 15, 2010, at the Blue Mountain Community Church, 928 Sturm Ave., Walla Walla at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev Michael Hinrichsen. Private burial will be held prior to services at the Blue Mountain Memorial
Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mountain Community Church, Walla Walla Community Hospice or to the Providence St. Mary
Regional Cancer Center through the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main St, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.

Jeanne was born June 24, 1943, in Walla Walla to Albert Matthew McManus and Mary Joyce DeVaney McManus. She attended schools in Walla Walla, graduating high school with the class of 1961.

On Dec. 29, 1962, she married Ralph Zimmerman and began a life of a military wife and mother, living in many states and also South Korea. While her husband was stationed overseas during the Vietnam Conflict, Jeanne resided in Walla Walla with her parents and gave birth to two children, Kay Ann Zimmerman on April 1, 1964, and Eric Zimmerman on Aug. 5, 1966. While living in South Korea, the family adopted a third child, Stephen Zimmerman, born March 3, 1977. The family returned to Walla Walla to live in 1985. The couple divorced in 1989.

Jeanne married Thomas Fox on July 4, 1998, and she always claimed the fireworks were in celebration of their marriage. Jeanne was a member of Blue Mountain Community Church and an active member of the Missions Committee almost until her death.

Jeanne worked for and retired from State Farm Insurance. She was also a member of the Wa-Hi Reunion Committee. Jeanne was also an avid craftsperson, amateur photographer, and was well known for her
exquisite crochet work. She also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Fox of Walla Walla; her daughter and son-in-law, Scott and Kay Zimmerman of Portland; son and daughter-in-law Eric and Anke Zimmerman of Fort Lewis, Wash.; and son Stephen Zimmerman of Portland; step-son, Scott Fox of Cambridge, Mass.; step-daughters, Ginger and her husband Tim Taylor of Oregon City, Ore., and Angela Fox of Portland; her five grandchildren, Hannah, Katelyn, and David Zimmerman of Fort Lewis, Wash., and Katlyn and Melisa Taylor of Oregon City, Ore.; two sisters, Alice Kalilimoku of Meridian, Idaho, and Linda Krapfel of Penn Valley, Calif.; one brother, Dan McManus of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and four nephews and seven nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Joyce McManus.
