PORTLAND - Walla Walla Community College's 3-point shooting wasn't enough in an 87-80 semifinal loss to Clackamas Community College at the NWAACC Crossover tournament.

Clackamas' Cougars are the two-time defending NWACC champs.

The Warriors shot 14-of-28 from the 3-point line for the game.

They were 10-14 in the first half and 4-14 in the second.

"We cooled down shooting considerably in the second half," WWCC coach Jeff Reinland said. "And we gave up way too many offensive rebounds, 17 to our five."

"Aaron Corsi, our big man, got in foul trouble and sat most of the second half. Our other big man didn't suit up because of a sprained ankle," Reinland said.

Jason Smith led the Warriors, shooting 8-of-12 for 26 points.

Ryan Schultz added 17 points for the Warriors.

"Clackamas was a good club," Reinland said. "They're huge and they killed us on the glass. They outrebounded us and in my mind, that was the difference in the game."

The Cougars outrebounded the Warriors 40-25.

The Warriors are 5-2.

WWCC plays at noon today in the third-fourth place game of the tournament.
