ATHENA - Weston-McEwen's boys basketball team squashed Elgin 68-37 in Blue Mountain Conference basketball action Saturday night.

The TigerScots improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in league.

Dallas Reich led the TigerScots with 16 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and six steals.

Tyler Babb contributed 20 points, shooting 9-of-13 from the field.

"We came out with a good start," said W-M head coach Brian Pickard. "We had a lot of energy. Our defense has been good all year and was especially good tonight. We have been holding teams to about 43 points per game, which gives you a chance to win every game.

"Our offense finally came around this weekend, working off our defense and getting some easy, transition baskets to improve our shooting percentage."

The TigerScots play at Umatilla at 7:30 Monday.
