Thefts, Burglaries

WW Police

  • 300 block South Fourth Avenue. Prescription medications and jewelry.
  • Kmart, 2200 E. Isaacs Ave. Employee caught stealing merchandise, Dec. 15-17.

WW County Sheriff

  • 4800 block Valley Grove Road. Dec. 19. Dark green Buick Century stolen.

MF Police

  • 900 block South Columbia Street. Saturday. Vehicle entered, items taken.
  • 100 block South Main Street. Saturday. Home entered, items taken.

Umatilla County Sheriff

  • Umpine Road, Milton-Freewater. Friday. Theft reported.

Columbia County Sheriff

  • 100 block Main Road, Waitsburg. Residential burglary.

Assaults

WW Police

  • 1500 block West Rose. Damage done to two vehicles, and incident escalated into a fight at an apartment. One woman received facial and dental injuries, and was taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center.

Collisions

WW Police

  • Merriam and Cypress streets. 7:09 a.m. Sunday. Driver struck a parked vehicle, light pole, a small tree and fire hydrant. Alcohol may have been a factor. No injuries reported.
  • Private access driveway and Rose Street. 12:56 p.m. Sunday. First vehicle in line backed into the vehicle behind it. No injuries reported.
  • Carrie Street and North 13th Avenue. 10:57 p.m. Sunday. Driver lost control and struck a low stone wall. No injury reported.
  • 1600 block Wilbur Avenue. Saturday. Rear-end collision due to inability to stop.
  • Second Avenue and Sumach Street. 10:46 a.m. Sunday. Unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle.
  • Second Avenue and Rose Street. Sunday. Vehicle turning right at intersection struck a vehicle waiting at the light. Speed and surface were factors. No injuries.

WW County Sheriff

  • Highway 125 and Plaza. Sunday. Single vehicle slid in to ditch. No damage or injury reported.

CP Police

  • 2000 block Taumarson Road. 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Vehicle slid on curve and hit arbed wire fence.

MF Police

  • 100 block Tara Street. Hit-and-run collision.

Umatilla County Sheriff

  • Sykes Boulevard, 7:47 p.m. Saturday. Accident reported.

Arrests

WW Police

  • Awet Alazar, 21, 1459 S.E. Independence Drive, College Place. Sunday. Charge: investigation of driving while under the influence.
  • Mario Jay Upham, no address. Sunday. Charge: investigation of possession of violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-mfg/del/poss with intent; violation of Uniform Controlled Substances Act-drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

MF Police

  • Arthur Burhoe, 72, 16 S.W. 10th Ave., No. A. Sunday. Charge: investigation of driving under the influence.

Fire, Ambulance runs

WW Fire Dept.

  • Third Avenue and Tietan Street. 3:43 p.m. Sunday. Passenger vehicle fire, no injuries.

Vandalism

Columbia County Sheriff

  • 600 block South Third Street, Dayton. Vehicle vandalized at Dayton High School.
