Arlene Lesko


Arlene Lesko passed away on Dec. 25, 2010. Arlene was born to Joseph and Clara (Spanish) Elia on March 18, 1938, in Walla Walla. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1956.
On Dec. 29, 1957, she married John Lesko and raised their three children Debbie Vinti (Tom) and John Lesko, Jr. (Rosalie) of Walla Walla and Jim Lesko (Betty) of Pendleton. Arlene lived her life as a devoted wife and mother. She will be remembered for her commitment and devotion as a loving caregiver for her husband during his four-year battle with cancer. Arlene enjoyed visiting with friends, working in her yard and around her house, cooking for family and friends, and especially spending time with her family, and grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children; five grandchildren, Blake, Logan, Molli, Bailey and Jack Lesko; her sisters, Mary Gunberg and Emma Dienhart; and her brother, Joe Elia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (John) who died on Nov. 8, 2010, and her brothers and sisters, Dominic Elia, Bennie Elia, and Frank (Fritz) Elia, Rose Ruscio, Angie Stinnett and Jennie Peterson Lamb.

Viewing and visitation will be at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, and from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Tim Hays, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Arlene's name may be made to Walla Walla Catholic Schools or Walla Walla Community Hospice through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
