WALLA WALLA -- It's love on wheels from Walla Walla General Hospital -- love for your heart.
The hospital is offering free health screenings through its "Health Van" to help identify risk factors relating to heart disease, explained spokeswoman Kristi Spurgeon Johnson.
Beginning Sunday the Adventist Health network's mobile clinic will be at a different location throughout the week. People are invited to pay a visit to get their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar checked.
The clinic is a 36-foot motor home, "that is brightly colored and hard to miss," she said. Inside is a check-in area, screening rooms and a private discussion area.
The mobile screening clinic will be at the following locations:
- Sunday: Wal-Mart, 1-6 p.m.
- Monday: Andy's Market, 3-6 p.m.
- Tuesday: Super 1 Foods, 3-6 p.m.
- Wednesday: Albertsons, 3-6 p.m.
- Thursday: Heritage Park, downtown, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
On some days a health care provider will also be available to discuss the results of the tests.
The clinic can do sophisticated screenings and see a number of people at one time, Spurgeon Johnson said. It is the hospital's hope to bring the mobile clinic back to the area for future events and a wider variety of screenings.
