WALLA WALLA -- Applications for the Jim Kibler Ag Scholarship for the 2010-11 school year are being accepted through March 1, according to a news release. Application forms are available from Blue Mountain Community Foundation, 8 S. Second Ave., Suite 618, in Walla Walla.
The scholarship is named after Jim Kibler, a fourth-generation Walla Walla Valley wheat farmer and cattleman, who passed away in April 2008. The award is available to students who are studying or will study at an accredited college or vocational school in the areas of farming, animal or plant sciences, vet medicine, natural resources management, technology, marketing and agribusiness. Preference is given to Washington, Oregon and Idaho students with farm backgrounds.
Applicants should include a stamped, self-addressed business size envelope.
