Looking for Valentine's Day ideas? A variety of local businesses would love to offer their services.
From songstresses to slumber parties, a slew of events are planned for this weekend's holiday.
Here are a few:
Parties Plus @ the Depot: The costume rental, party planning and gift delivery business owned by Debbie Abrams offers valentine gift packages starting at $25. All packages include balloons, candles, candy, flowers, a stuffed animal and card -- wrapped or bagged with a bow. Available extras include costumed delivery, a special engagement package, dinner reservations at Jacobi's Cafe, gift cards for Misbehaven Spa & Salon or a romantic escape at Hampton Inn & Suites. The operation is based at the Depot next to Jacobi's, 416 N. Second Ave. Hours of operation are 3-7 p.m. today and Wednesday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information call 200-2020.
Singing Valentines: Blueprint, a Sweet Adelines quartet, offers a special surprise factor for those who want to express their love through song. For $30 the singing valentine includes a serenade, a flower and a handcrafted card with your personal message to your loved one. Deliveries can take place at home, work or the location of your dining experience. Arrangements can be made to deliver special gifts as well. Appointments should be made no later than Thursday. Over-nighter: The Fat Duck Inn is offering a "Sweethearts Slumber Party."
The Catherine Street bed-and-breakfast offers a one-night stay at the inn Saturday. Town-car service will deliver you to and from a local restaurant of your choice. An in-suite turn-down service will include chocolate-dipped strawberries and a bouquet of flowers. Valentines will wake up on the holiday with a champagne brunch. The cost is $249 per couple. Owner Alexa Palmer said the Fat Duck Inn will also offer a valentines dinner in-house, as well. Only about eight spaces are left for that service. For more details, call 526-3825, or visit: www.fatduckinn.com.
Wine & Chocolate: Le Chateau Winery and Petits Noirs are pairing for the second annual "Wine & Chocolate" education and pairing class Friday.
For $30 per person, Lan Wong of Milton-Freewater's Petits Noirs will introduce a wine-and-chocolate 101. Guests will sample six Le Chateau wines, each paired with two chocolates. A complimentary logo glass will be a souvenir, and discounts on wine purchases will be available. Guests will also get to take home their favorite Petits Noirs fine chocolates.
The event takes place 6:30 p.m. at Le Chateau, 175 Aeronca Ave. at the Walla Walla Regional Airport Industrial Park. For reservations, call 956-9311 or visit www.lechateauwinery.com.
A night in: Feel like staying home with a pizza? Even Papa Murphy's is getting in on the Valentine's Day action. The take 'n' bake pizza chain is offering heart-shaped pepperoni pizzas.
