The annual Whitman College Student One-Act Play Contest continues this weekend with three student plays presented on the Harper Joy Theater's Freimann stage, on the Whitman College campus.

Evening performances are 8 tonight, Friday and Saturday, with matinees at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The contest includes "The Ferrets of My Heartbroken Past" by Galen Cobb, "That Chair Is Empty" by Michaela Gianotti and "The Ride" by Miriam Cook.

Each fall, Whitman College students are invited to submit scripts less than 40 minutes in length. A committee of readers chooses three of these scripts for performance. The audience is invited to vote for its favorites and each of the playwrights receives a cash prize. The plays are entirely student-produced.

For information or reservations, call the box office: 527-5180 from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. weekdays.
