WALLA WALLA - The 17th annual Walla Walla YMCA Shootout is slated at seven area venues this weekend.
The tournament, for boys and girls teams with players from fifth through eighth grades, begins tonight at 5:30 p.m., continues with games beginning from 8 a.m. to about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, and from 8 a.m. Sunday until championship games about 5:30 p.m.
Eighty teams are slated to participate this year, up from 75 teams last year, said tournament organizer Susan Anfinson of the Walla Walla YMCA.
Thirteen local teams are registered, along with teams from as far away as Nyssa, Ore., Lewiston and Wenatchee, Anfinson said.
