MISSION - Big Sky Conference East Division-leading Nixyaawii flexed its muscles early and often here Friday night during a 73-16 girls basketball rout of Condon-Wheeler.

A gaggle of Golden Eagles hit double figures, led by the 18 points of Miriah Withers. Chelsey Minthorn added 15 points, Leona Benoist scored 12 and Kanisha Perry chipped in with 10 points and extended her wings for a game-high 17 rebounds.

Nixyaawii led 20-6 after one quarter and never looked back.

"We jumped on them really early," Nixyaawii coach Jeremy Maddern said. "Our defense (was) not playing up to par, but we set the tone defensively - which led to some easy baskets. We shot the ball extremely well. Once we got the lead, we cruised after that."

Nixyaawii was 11-2 in league and 19-3 overall prior to a league counter at Echo Saturday.
