ONTARIO, Ore. - Despite individual efforts by Zach Conlee and Ryley Croghan, Mac-Hi's boys basketball team lost a Class 4A Greater Oregon League matchup against Ontario, 89-43, here Saturday night.

Conlee pounded the ball inside for Mac-Hi, getting 13 points and grabbing six rebounds.

"Zach had one of his better efforts tonight," Ellis said. "He had a lot of good rebounds and put-backs."

Croghan shot away from the outside and scored 10 points to go with a team-high three assists.

"Ryley hit a couple of 3s early on to get us going," Mac-Hi coach Nick Ellis said. "Then, for some reason, we didn't score much in the next three quarters. We just didn't have any pep in our step."

The score was 12-12 after one quarter.

"Ontario got two or three buckets in transition to get them going," Ellis said. "Then they started hitting from everywhere and starting shooting the lights out."

Ontario hit eight 3-pointers on the night.

"We played poorly," Ellis said. "And they played exceptionally well."

The Pioneers play two more league matchups next week. That would be before a likely rematch with Ontario in the district playoffs.
