Janice Sherrie Filan, 63, of Walla Walla, lost her courageous battle with cancer on February 14th, 2010 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00 am at the First Assembly of God Church in Walla Walla. A reception will follow in the gymnasium. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 19th from 1-5 pm and 7-9 pm at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, the Filan family respectfully requests that donations be made in Jan's honor to the Walla Walla Community Hospice.

Jan was born March 6, 1946, the daughter of Harold and Ortha (Owens) Fuller in Salina, Kansas. Jan's family moved to Walla Walla in 1961. There she met her husband, Leon Filan, and they were married in 1963. They had 4 daughters and a son. Jan was a full time wife and homemaker. She enjoyed doing crafts, reading, puzzles and also took great joy in using her creative talent to make blankets and clothing for charity. She was very involved with the family Corn Maze and enjoyed visiting with all the people who came.

Jan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Leon Filan of Walla Walla; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Don Smith, Shawna and Scott Dockham, Sherri and Gene Dawes, Summer and Joel Reyerson and a son and daughter-in-law, Stace and Katy Filan all of Walla Walla; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, Rev. Harold Fuller of Walla Walla and her sister, Linda McLeran of Bonney Lake, Washington.
