DAYTON -- Folk singer/songwriter Thom Dudley and fiddler Eddie Parente, will play 7-9 p.m. Feb. 26, at Skye Book and Brew, 148 E. Main St.

One of the founding members of the Celtic group Raven, singer/songwriter Dudley has been playing Celtic music for many years. His Celtic music interests come through in his original music as well, with the song "If I Were the West Wind" winning a Celtic songwriter award in the 2004 Just Plain Folk music contest. He is currently working on his second "solo" CD in collaboration with friends from Portland and British Columbia. His music has played on radio stations as far away as Australia and Scotland, including the Scottish program Archie Fisher's Traveling Folk on BBC Radio Scotland.

Also a former member of Raven, Parente has been prominent in Irish music circles, playing and recording with a number of respected traditional bands throughout the years. Although widely known for his innovative fiddle playing, he is also an accomplished viola and mandolin player. In addition, Parente has composed and recorded many original tunes, which have in turn been picked up and played by other musicians.
