Former area resident Paul Gregory Martindale passed away Feb. 10, 2010, in Houston, Texas, from a long illness. Paul was born in San Jose, Calif., to Donald and Mary Ann Martindale. The family moved to Walla Walla when Paul was 3. His mother raised him along with his two siblings, Timothy and Lucinda. For a time Paul and his life partner, Rick, lived in Michigan, where he was able to raise goats and chickens on a small farm. He also had an extremely enormous pig collection. Paul was a fun-loving, outgoing person who enjoyed his friends and family. His cheerful demeanor throughout his life and illness uplifted those around him, whether it was friends and family or hospital staff. Paul had numerous friends in the Walla Walla and Texas areas whom he held dear to his heart, too many to list. He also had a very close relationship with his niece, Crystal Olvera.
