MILTON-FREEWATER - Mac-Hi takes 15 wrestlers to the Oregon state Class 4A wrestling tournament in Portland this Thursday through Saturday following a stellar performance at the district tournament in La Grande Saturday.
The Pioneers won the Greater Oregon League district title with 355.5 points, followed by Ontario with 352.5, La Grande with 249 and Baker with 210.5.
"Our prospects at the state tournament are great," Mac-Hi coach Beau Chester said. "Sweet Home may take as many as 20 wrestlers, and they're the defending state champ. And we were the runner-up last year.
"But we have a very good chance this year," Chester said.
