WALLA WALLA - For the second time in as many weeks, Whitman College senior Hilary White has been named Northwest Conference Student Athlete of the Week for women's basketball.
White, a 5-foot-10 guard, finished her playing career on a high note last week, averaging 23.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in her final two games. She matched her career-high in scoring with 25 points against Whitworth, and she topped the 20-point plateau in each of her last four games.
White knocked down eight 3-pointers in last week's two games, giving her 42 triples in 16 NWC games, which topped the conference. She averaged 15.2 points and 6.7 rebounds during the conference season, numbers that ranked her third in scoring and eighth in rebounding.
With her late burst of scoring, White moved into 13th place on Whitman's all-time scoring list with 975 career points. She also finished with 391 career rebounds.
