WALLA WALLA - Whitman College sophomore Brandon Shaw, who led the Northwest Conference in steals and was sixth in scoring, has earned postseason honors in a vote of men's basketball coaches.

Shaw, a 6-foot-2 guard, is one of six players in the nine-school conference who received All-NWC Honorable Mention recognition.

Of the 11 players voted to the All-NWC first- and second-teams, all but two played for the teams who finished in the top spots in the final NWC standings.

Whitman, under second-year coach Eric Bridgeland, rose to sixth place in the confererence this season, finishing just one game out of fifth.

Shaw, one of only two sophomores to earn all-conference honors (there were no freshmen), averaged 15.9 points and 3.7 rebounds during the NWC season.
