Prescott girl injured in collision


BURBANK — A 14-year-old girl was injured this morning after the school bus she was a passenger in struck a deer along State Route 124, about five miles east of Burbank, according to a news release.

The Washington State Patrol reports the collision occurred about 6:55 a.m. as the bus was heading west at mile post 6. The driver, Tomas R. Madrigal, 59, of Prescott, hit a deer that was in the roadway.

The injured girl, Veronica Alcantar, of Prescott, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Madrigal was not injured in the crash, and the WSP reports no charges are pending in connection with the crash.
