Blue Moon Coffee has opened at 213 S. Ninth Ave., the former site of Coffee Cravings, which relocated to 10th Avenue and Poplar Street.

Owned by Ron and Jamie Coleman, who also own the neighboring Ice-Burg as well as Tamarack Cellars, Blue Moon's focus is on fresh, local products.

The operation features its own Blue Moon blend of coffee created by Walla Walla Roastery. It also has pastries from Walla Walla Bread Co. Manager Korynne Van Riper said operators have an eye toward organic and natural products.

Blue Moon, which has seven employees, opened Nov. 12. It operates 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. As a bonus to employees at nearby Providence St. Mary Medical Center, where Jamie Coleman is a member of the active medical staff, those who show their identification badges get a 20 percent discount on their drinks.
