Margaret Parmelee, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Walla Walla, Washington on January 1, 2010.

Margaret was born on May 21, 1907, in Provo, Utah, to John and Mary Jane Patton Hague. The family moved to Butte, Montana in 1921. She attended school in Butte and was employed by Safeway Corp. as executive claims manager until her retirement in 1967.

She married Ken Parmelee on February 9, 1932. The couple moved to Walla Walla in 1970. She worked for the American Red Cross until 1980. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Margaret had an active and productive life ~ she will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Hopkins of Seattle; grandchildren: Ken Nordstrom of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Gayl Schubert of Camas, Washington; Marsha Fortune of Milton-Freewater, Oregon; Tracy Clay of Clarkston, Washington; Lisa Angel of Los Angeles, California; and Greg Annala and Paul Annala both of Auburn, Washington. She also has numerous great-grandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, in 1970; grandson, John Annala in 1981; and her daughter, Claire Nordstrom in 2001.

The memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2010, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 323 Catherine Street, Walla Walla, Washington.
