BURBANK — Pomeroy wrestlers won 11 of 18 matches here Tuesday night as the Pirates joined Hanford, Tri-Cities Prep and host Burbank in competition that featured individual matches but no team scoring.

Ten of the Pirates’ 11 victories came via the pin. The lone decision was recorded by Tyler King, who defeated Burbank’s Myr Jones 14-4 for his first victory of the season.

"It was good to see Tyler get his first win," Pomeroy assistant coach Derek Shawley said. "He’s had some tough matches so far this season."

Pirates Klyntin Bott at 189 pounds and Tory Knebel at 160 remained unbeaten on the season. Bott pinned T-C Prep’s Brandon Lee in the second round to extend his record to 13-0, and Knebel pinned Zach Graham of Burbank in the second round for his 11th win.

The Pirates travel to Reardon Thursday for dual matches with White Swan, Colfax, Tri-Cities Prep and the host Indians.
