Walla Walla – Mary E. Davis, 75, died January 2, 2010, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center, 1710 Plaza Way, Walla Walla, Washington.
The memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the Stateline Seventh-day Adventist Church, 53730 Stateline Road, Milton-Freewater, Oregon. Pastors Mike Lambert and Roger Johnson will officiate.Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Society through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, Washington 99362.
Mrs. Davis was born November 28, 1934, in LaGrande, Oregon, to Willis Riley and Esther Rendel Harmon. On November 27, 1952, she and Dale Smith married in LaGrande. She loved country music, and enjoyed reading, playing guitar and singing for family and friends. Her role as a mother was very important to her. She and Dale
Smith divorced in 1971.
In the early 1980s she obtained a certified nursing assistant license in Palo Alto, California, working there and in Las Vegas, Nevada and in Walla Walla at the Woodland Manor Nursing Home, retiring after her marriage to Vic Davis in 1994. She became a member of the Stateline Seventh-day Adventist Church in the late 1990s.
Survivors include two daughters: Tamara Bonneru of Redmond, Oregon and Lori of Boise, Idaho; three sons: Steven Smith of Las Vegas, Jim Smith of Golden Valley, Arizona and Gary Smith also of Las Vegas; two sisters: Leah Lundberg of Walla Walla and Vernitta Searles of Pendleton, Oregon; eighteen grandchildren and eighteen
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic Davis in 2001, a daughter, Kimberly Anne Arnold and a son, David Brent Smith, both in 2007, and a brother, Elmo Rendel.
