HELIX — Sick and injured, the Helix Grizzlies were no match for Condon-Wheeler here Friday night as they suffered a 66-34 defeat in a boys Big Sky Conference basketball game.

"One of our starters, Michael Sherman, got injured early on in the game," Helix coach Gene Heliker said. "Our 6-foot-5 center is at home sick with the flu and our point guard has a badly injured ankle that he plays with."

The Grizzlies only have six really healthy players right now, Heliker said.

The loss dropped Helix to 0-12 overall and 0-4 in league. The Grizzlies’ Saturday night game at Central Christian in Prineville was postponed because of a winter storm forecast.

"We played well in spurts," Heliker said of Friday’s loss. "We’ve got to learn to play better all game long."

Zack Sundin led the Grizzlies with 11 points. Riley Sederburg added nine points and eight rebounds, and Tyler Bushman finished with eight points and eight boards.

Condon-Wheeler’s Kyle MacInnes was the game’s leading scorer with 23.

"We rebounded all right and played fairly good defense," Heliker said. "A problem was that we got fatigued after awhile."
