Milton-Freewater resident, Jasperelle E. Rogers, 84, died January 3, 2010, at Regency at The Park, 420 SE Myra Road, College Place, Washington.
The memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010, at the Stateline Seventh-day Adventist Church, Stateline Road, Milton-Freewater. Pastor Mike Lambert will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Angels Broadcasting Network through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, Washington 99362.
Mrs. Rogers was born March 6, 1925, in Tacoma, Washington, to Jasper L. and Edith Haynes Parmenter. She attended Rogue River Academy in Medford, Oregon, Laurelwood Academy in Gaston, Oregon and Walla Walla University. On August 27, 1944, she and Ortis N. Rogers married in Eugene, Oregon. She enjoyed her role as a homemaker. She loved babies, dolls, painting, quilting, playing the piano, and sewing. She was a member of the Stateline Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her husband at their home; five daughters: Connie Painter of Tualatin, Oregon, Shari Mohr of Benton City, Washington, Julie Anderson of Cheyenne Wyoming, Joann Rosevear of Beaverton, Oregon and Carla Nelson of Pukalani, Hawaii; two sons: Dayton Rogers of Salem, Oregon and Dale Rogers of Smelterville, Idaho; two sisters: Elmerla Colburn of Eugene, Oregon and Marilyn Greenley of Walla Walla; two brothers: Roy Permenter of Medford and Norman Parmenter of Springfield, Oregon; fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
