James V. ‘Vic” Curtis

July 9, 1921 - January 8, 2010

James Victor Curtis, known to all as Vic, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at his College Place, Washington home. He was 88.

Born July 9, 1921 in the Camp Six logging camp in Arlington, Washington, Vic was the sixth of ten children of James and Edna Curtis.

He married Eileen Ziegler on January 5, 1944 in Stanwood, Washington. Vic worked at various trades with much of his life dedicated to the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and was a member of the Village SDA Church in College Place.

His love of the outdoors, landscaping and gardening was evident in his beautiful yards. He and Eileen moved to the Walla Walla valley from western Washington in April of 2006.

Vic is survived by his loving wife, Eileen; two daughters, Kathryn Martin, and Vicki and Gary Jarnes; one son, Harold and Carolyn Curtis; two sisters, Vera and Leonard Ayers, and Virginia Christopher; and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm, and Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery in College Place. Because of our blessed hope, we look forward to the resurrection morning when we will be reunited with him together with Jesus.
